Anyone Ever Build a Plywood Tank?
« on: May 29, 2014, 01:08:33 PM »
I am playing with the idea of building a large plywood tank.  I'm thinking 8 feet long x 2 feet wide x 2.5 feet tall.  It would only have a front glass window, no side glass.  I know the front glass would have to be pretty thick, and I am guessing I'd need 1" thick plywood, but I think it would be much cheaper to build than buy a tank of similar dimensions.  Anyone ever do this?  Any advice?

A friend of mine from another forum built a 250 gal out of plywood that's held up really well for... 5 or 6 years now?  Here's his thread http://www.plantedtank.net/forums/showthread.php?t=91292&highlight=plywood+tank

Thanks Laura, I will check out the thread.  I just skimmed it a bit.  It's a long one!
